What We Are Going To Read Next

It was recited on the authority of Abu Hurairah, may Allah be pleased with him that the Prophet, peace, and blessing be upon him, said:

No one spoke in the cradle but three Child

The First Child:

Islamic Stories of Three Child are those stories which should so importantly be taught every child of your families. Because the lessons are very significant to develop child’s mind towards humanity. One of them was ‘Eesa (Jesus) son of Maryam (Mary). You already know by reading different books that who was the Prophet Isa (AS). People know every story regarding them. We will discuss again the life of Isa (AS) sometime later.

The Second Child:

Now we are going to state the second child among the Stories of Three Child.

Islamic Stories: The second one was the companion of Jurayj; the devout worshipper. Jurayj took a quiet hermitage for worship and restrained himself in that. His mother came to him as he was performing prayer, and she called, ‘O Jurayj!’ He said, ‘O My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am observing) my prayer (what shall I do)?’ He sustained with the prayer.

She returned and came the following day and he was (still) busy in prayer. Again she called, ‘O Jurayj!’ He said, ‘My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am performing) my prayer (what shall I do)?’, and he sustained with the prayer, and she returned. Then the next day again she came while he was performing prayer, and called, ‘O Jurayj!’ He said, ‘My Lord, my mother (is calling me) and (I am offering) my prayer (what shall I do)?’ and he sustained with the prayer. She said, ‘O Allah! Do not let him die until he sees the faces of prostitutes.’

After That What Happened

This was the beginning occurrences of the second child of the Stories of Three Child. Now read the remaining part very carefully.

Islamic Stories: The story of Jurayj and that of his reflection and prayer spread among the children of Bani Israil. There was a prostitute who was beauty embodied. She said (to the people), “If you like, I can enticement him into evil.” She presented herself to him but he paid no heed (to her). She came to a shepherd who lived near the hermitage and she offered herself to him. He (the shepherd) had sexual intercourse with her and she became pregnant. When she gave birth to a baby she said, ‘This baby is from Jurayj.’

So they came and asked Jurayj to leave and they destroyed the hermitage and began to beat him. He asked them what the matter was. They said, ‘You committed fornication with this prostitute and she gave birth to a baby from you.’ He said, ‘Where is the baby?’ They brought him (the baby) and then he said, ‘Just leave me so that I should perform prayer.’

Islamic Stories: He completed prayer and when he finished, he struck the baby’s stomach with his finger, and asked him, ‘O boy, who is your father?’ The baby responded, ‘He is the shepherd. So, the people turned towards Jurayj, kissed him and touched him (looking for blessings), and said, ‘We are ready to construct your hermitage with gold.’ He said, ‘No, just reconstruct it with mud as it was,’ and so they did.

The Prophet, Peace, and Blessing be upon him, continued:

The Third Child:

Then, the third child was, there was a baby whose mother was feeding him when a person dressed in a fine clothing came riding on a precious animal. His mother said, ‘O Allah, make my child like this one.’ He (the baby) left his mother’s breast, looked at the rider and said, ‘O Allah, Please Do not make me like him.’ He then returned to the breast and resumed eating.

He (i.e. Abu Hurairah) said, ‘It is as though I can see the Messenger of Allah, peace, and blessing be upon him, demonstrating the scene of his drinking milk with his forefinger in his mouth and drinking that.

Stories of Three Child | The Prophet, Peace be upon him, continued:

It so occurred that a slave girl passed by them who was being trodden and the people behind her were saying, ‘You committed fornication and theft.’ She was saying, ‘Sufficient for me is Allah, and [He is] the best Disposer of situations’, and his mother said, ‘O Allah, Do not make my child like her.’ He left the breast, looked at her, and said, ‘O Allah! Please make me like her.’

Stories of Three Child | The Conversation Between Mother and Child

This was trailed by a conversation between the mother and child. She said, ‘A good-looking man ensued to pass by, and I said: O Allah, make my child like him, and you said: O Allah, do not make me like him, and there passed a girl and the people were beating her and saying: You committed fornication and theft, and I said: O Allah, do not make my child like her, and you said: O Allah, make me like her.’ Best way to raise your child is to teach him honesty and also tell him the stories of good people and also the stories of three children.

So that, his mind can grow in the way the great people lived their life. The infant said, ‘that man was a tyrant, and I said: O Allah, do not make me like him; and they were saying about the girl: ‘You committed fornication’, whereas in fact, she had not committed that and they were saying: ‘You have committed theft, whereas she had not committed theft’, so I said: O Allah, make me like her.

Stories of Three Child | Lessons We Should Learn From these Hadiths

  1. If You have complete faith on Allah then No One can Deviate You In any way.
  2. The evil cannot Deviate a Faithful Person to Allah. The truth will come out and Evil will be placed in front of everyone. He will be hated by everyone always.
  3. The person we think is a good human he might not be like that. In another way, the person we think is a bad man he might not be like that.
  4. Always Be good to Parents. Because they are the most significant gift from Allah for you.
  5. Allah The Almighty mostly makes way outs for His Awliyaa’ at the times of hardships. Allah The Almighty Says:

    {وَمَن يَتَّقِ اللَّـهَ يَجْعَل لَّهُ مَخْرَ‌جًا}

‘Translation’ {And whoever fears Allah – He will make for him a way out.} [At-Talaq: 2] Sometimes, He The Exalted may afflict them with some hardships to increase their rewards and refine their characters and thus it will imply all good for them as what happened to the woman.

  6. Recommendation of performing ablution and prayer at the times of hardships and difficulties.
  7. This Hadith also indicates that ablution was known in the religion of the previous nations. It was proved in this Hadith, i.e. the narration reported by Al-Bukhari, may Allah have mercy upon him, that He (i.e. Jurayj) performed Ablution and prayer.
  8. This Hadith proves the Karaamaat.
  9. It points out that Karaamaat can be supernatural in all different ways while some scholars rejected this idea and said that it only related to answering Du‘aa’ (i.e. supplication) and the like. This is really wrong and a denial of the witnessed fact. The correct opinion is that it may occur even in a wider scope than that.
  10. This Hadith also indicates that humans by nature prefer their children to themselves with all goodness for the woman asked goodness to her child and be guarded against evil while she asked nothing for herself.
