What is The Night of Power: Laylatul Qadr
Laylatul Qadr is the night when Allah sent his angel to Muhammad- The Last Prophet SAW To reveal the Holy Quran. This night is greater than Thousand Nights based on Significance. That is why This night is Known as The Night of Power. This Night has different kinds of Importance for Every Muslim. Muslims Perform Special Ibadah on This Night. Allah indicates to perform extra Ibadah to get closeness to Allah. Because in this night Allah sends his angels the most closest position to Mankind.
The Night of Power Story
29 or 30 days of the Holy Month of Ramadan, the last ten (10) days, Muslim find and observe the Night of Power (Lailatul Qadr/Laylatul Qadr). Traditionally holds that the Night of Power is when the Angel Gabriel first appeared to the Prophet Muhammad SAW, and then the first revelation of Quran has happened. The first verses of the Quran to be revealed were these words: “Read: In the name of your Lord who created you… “and so on. On a quiet Ramadan evening when the Prophet Muhammad was thirty years old then Quran was initially sent down to him.
That revelation sparked the beginning of his time as a Messenger of Allah, and the establishment of the Muslim Community.
Muslims are requested to “seek” the Night of Power during the last ten (10) days of Ramadan. There are some indications to some specific dates of 23rd, 25th, and 27th. It is noted that the Prophet said: “Whoever stays up (in prayer and remembrance of Allah) and hoping to seek reward, he shall be forgiven for his past sins.” (Bukhari & Muslim).
There is a Surah by the name of this holy night “Surah – 97 – Surah Al-Qadr” (The Night of Power)
Translation of Surah Al-Qadr:
In the Name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
I have indeed revealed this message in the Night of Power.
And what will explain what the Night of Power is?
The Night of Power is better than a thousand months.
Therein come down the angels and the spirit, by Allah’s permission, on every errand.

Around the world every Muslims spend these last ten (10) nights of Ramadan in solid consecration, receding to the mosque to read the Quran (I’tikaf), reciting special prayers, and reflecting on the meaning of Allah’s message to us. Muslims believed to be a time of powerful spirituality when the believers are surrounded by angels, the gates of heaven are open, and God’s blessings and mercy are plenty.

When will Lailatul Qadr Start during Ramadan
Muslims look onward to these days as the acme of the Holy Month. Even though nobody knows when accurately the Night of Power will fall, the Prophet Muhammad SAW indicated that it would fall during the last ten (10) days of Ramadan and in one of the odd nights. Most of the people are certain of that it is the 27th in certain, but there is no indication for that. In an expectation, Muslims increase their observances and good activities throughout the last ten (10) days, to be sure that whichever night it is, they reap the benefit of Allah’s promise.
