Meraj is the night when Allah, took his dearest messenger, our beloved prophet Muhammad PUBH to the heaven or Jannah. On that night our Prophet visited Jannah and Jahannam and so many other things. He met Allah in the night of Miraj. So, we perform prayers to show our respect to Allah that he made us the Ummah of the Last Prophet of Islam. There are some procedure instructed in Holy Quran as well as in Hadith to prepare yourself for performing any prayers. These procedures are very important to get accepted to Allah. Because you know that, if your prayers don’t get accepted by Allah then there is no meaning of performing them.
So, when you are performing prayers in Shab e Meraj, always try to make sure that the procedure you are following while you’re performing prayers are accurate. To do this please follow the list below,

After you’ve taken all the precautions to perform prayer. Now we’ll discuss about different types of prayers you can perform in this holy night of Miraj.
Reciting Holy Quran
Reciting verses from holy Quran is one of the most significant activity in this holy night of Miraj. Because the holy Quran is the constitution of the whole universe. If you recite one letter from the holy Quran you’ll get 10 Sawabs. But the most important thing about reciting holy Quran is you need to understand the meaning of those verses in order to abide by the Quran.
To do this, either you can learn Arabic language or you can purchase a Quran of Arabic language with the translation of a language you can read and understand. It is better to read something and understand the meaning than reading something without understanding them.

You can also read hadith in this Shab e Meraj Night. You can read those saying of our Prophet regarding this night as well as know the history of this night. Muhammad PUBH explained each and every details about that night in Hadith to his companion.
Beside these, Hadith is the explanation of Quran, if you get stuck on somewhere while you’re reciting holy Quran and couldn’t understand then you can find that chapter in any book of Hadith and understand them. This is also a prayer to perform in Shab e Miraj.
For Hadith, same procedure is applied, you must understand the meaning of Hadith in order to solve the problem. To do this, you can either learn Arabic language, because every book of hadith are in Arabic language. But nowadays, there are many translated Hadith Books are available, you can buy them from there.
In the night of Shab e Meraj, you can also perform prayers of observing fasting for two days. Because of the physical hardness of Fasting, its being a fruitful prayer among other. Fasting is one of the most significant prayer to perform in any special occasion mentioned in Hadith.
As you know that, we Muslims are doing everything according to our beloved prophet’s PUBH way. He himself showed us how to observe and maintain also abide by the rules of holy Quran. So we perform one fasting on the day before the night and another one is before or after the holy night of Miraj. Perhaps this fasting will make your heart soft and help you bow yourself in-front of Allah.
Performing Dua & Dhikr
Dua and Dhikr (Zikr) is a prayer when we recite some specific words favorite to Allah and his messenger Muhammad PUBH. Allah also gave us some Duas directly in the holy Quran as verses, and there are many other Duas and Zikrs which our prophet PUBH taught us. You can read those Duas and Zikrs anytime you want.
But if you want to perform it separately then, you can choose a silent corner of your house and sit on a pure place, but before that you must purify yourself then you start reading those words and Duas as many times as you want.
Remember one-thing that, whenever you perform any prayers to satisfy Allah then make sure that your concentration is always in your prayer completely. Without complete concentration to your prayer then your prayer might have a less chance to get accepted by Allah. So, try to maintain the precautions you need before you start.
At first let me tell you that, the Salah, we’re going to discuss about, perhaps isn’t about the five time daily Salah. There are different types of Salah you can perform according to the situation and the occasion you’re in. Apart from the five times daily Salah most of them are not Farj, they’re mostly Sunnah or Nafl or Wazib. But today we’re going to discuss about Salah we can perform in the night of Shab e Miraj.
You can perform two types of Salah in Shab e Meraj, “Sunnah and Nafl”. There are literally no limit of how many Raka’at you can perform in this Miraj night. But, what you must’ve to do is, you have divide your Salah into several parts. Generally we perform two Raka’at or Four Raka’at in a part, sometimes for very specific time we perform 3 three Raka’at in a part. But here in this night you can either perform two / four Raka’at in a part and like this way you can perform as many parts you want to before the Fajr Waqt starts.
Remember that, you’ve to perform these Salah and finish your special prayer by performing Witr or Bitr Salah we perform every night. Because Witr or Bitr is the last Salah you can perform in the night before you go to bed.
But let me tell you that, there’s a common no. of Raka’at performed in the night of Shab e Miraj or Meraj. Most of the Mufassir of Islam doesn’t fixed the no. of Raka’at you can perform, but commonly 6 Raka’at, 10 Raka’at or 12 Raka’at are performed. At last I’m telling you this that, don’t get confused with the no. of Raka’at, perform as many Raka’at as you want. But perform your Salah Properly.
